workhard Hello, I’m Mrs. Valles. I’ve been the Counselor at Pleasant Hill for the past six years. It’s been wonderful getting to know the students and families over the years. I am delighted to be able to provide guidance and help meet the needs of all students. As the Counselor at Pleasant Hill, here are some of things I do:

• Classroom lessons teaching the guidance curriculum. Skill areas taught cover three domains as recommended by the American School Counselor Association. The areas covered include - academic, career, and personal/social.

• Individual and Small Group Counseling. Individual counseling is brief, solution-focused counseling to address individual student needs. Small group counseling is working with a group of two to five students with shared experiences. All counseling services are geared toward promoting the successful personal and academic development of students.

• Collaborate with Parents, Teachers and Staff to help students succeed.

• Campus 504 Coordinator

• Campus Testing Coordinator for State Assessments (STAAR)

• Mentor and PAL Coordinator

Please feel free to contact me if I can assist you!

Access to School Counselor Services
work hard

School counselors serve students and parents—both in groups and individual—to help students meet academic, personal/social, and college/career goals.
Individual referrals to the school counselor may be made by the student, a parent, or by school staff and administration. School counseling services do not constitute or substitute for professional therapeutic care.
Students may stop by the counseling office during the school day. Parents may call the counseling office to schedule an appointment or a phone conference. Matters of urgency will be given priority.
